Allen Green Joins Us In Ministry

As the ministry has grown, we have been wondering for a few years if God might lead our son Allen to join us (19 of his songs have been with us for 7 years now). While away at college his studies and interests continued in a direction that kept that possibility alive. He graduated with a B.A. in Music Education, summa cum laude from College of the Ozarks, and was involved with the theater program for several plays and musicals. CofO is very Christ-centered, and Allen has grown in faith, wisdom & skill. A nationwide search for someone who could help lead & eventually assume direction of Bible Alive Theater & School of Ministry-Santa Fe (BATSF), could not find a better match than Allen.
We premiered the new musical  ‘John the Baptizer’ featuring Allen as John on July 2, 9 & 16. Myra wrote this new musical, and Allen has written some extraordinary music for it! It has been good to see him arranging the songs, directing, and teaching individuals how to improve their singing & acting. A few weeks ago we talked to Allen about his music teacher job search and encouraged him to pray specifically seeking what Christ wants him to do.  In this we asked him to pray about joining us in BATSF. A week later, he told us he believes this is what God wants him to do. Our Board of Directors (including Myra and I) have decided to welcome Allen as a fellow missionary and a donation pledge drive to raise support for him begins immediately (please see how to help below). As an integral part of his ministry, Allen is offering private lessons for individuals or groups in voice, piano & music in the Santa Fe area, call him at 505-690-3799.

Pledge Drive: Missionary Support for Allen Green (see article above)

Trusting God to provide through his people, our son Allen is joining our ministry on staff.
As unaffiliated missionaries we rely upon churches & people to give monthly to provide our modest salaries.
Please help reach our goal of  $1,200 per month by July 31, 2010.

Please email info@biblealivetheater.com if you would like to make a monthly or one-time pledge to let us know of your commitment or download our pledge commitment form,
print it and mail it to 370 Aspen, Glorieta, NM 87535.

Thank you for helping us give free presentations of the Gospel. You are making a difference in the lives of many.
Your donations to Green Ridge Ministries/Bible Alive Theater are tax-deductible under IRS 501(C)3 regulations.

Coming Soon - A Bible Alive Theater Near You!

When the Lord made it clear that we needed to expand our productions to include full casts, and establish a school of ministry as well, we could barely imagine the concept spreading to other cities. But as people become involved and catch the vision of effecting the world for Jesus Christ in this way, they want to carry the concept to their towns and cities. Audrey Wauson  of Las Cruces, NM has caught the vision. She took the training last year and wrote a  new musical, ‘Sarai – Sarah, Mother of a Nation’Her Bible musical was our season opener for May and was excellent. Now we are taking the full cast to Las Cruces to present this new musical the end of July in several churches.  It is Audrey’s hope that after seeing the musical, enough people will catch the vision in Las Cruces to start a Bible Alive Theater of Las Cruces!

Only the Lord knows  what other cities will want to get on board after this season is completed. Clif, Allen and I will help train anyone who God calls to Bible Alive Theater. Prison Chaplain Daniel Ehlers of Buena Vista, CO portrayed Apostle John in Dean Jones rendition of ‘St. John in Exile’ May 21st ; it was a powerful performance and the audience was very blessed. We invited Daniel back for next year and he has accepted. He will return May 13, 2011 so mark your calendars.   We are all called to minister the love of Jesus Christ. Bible Alive Theater is just one of many ways you too can serve. Call us at 505-690-2548.

New Musicals for 2010

One of our talented young BATSF volunteers, Victoria Frazee of Santa Fe who also attended a BAT training, has written the Book of Esther into a musicalEsther the Brave Queen’. Adella Bransford, another very talented young volunteer &  musician, has written some great music for ‘Esther’. Myra is completing a second new musical; ‘Mary of Magdala’ will be presented in October. Randy Egan who has played Boaz and Joseph, is also an amazing song writer and has written all the music for this new Bible musical.  We will present ‘Ruth’ in August,  ‘Hannah’ in September,’ and ‘Mary’s Christmas Story’ in December. See the schedule below or online at  www.biblealivetheater.org

Women’s Retreats and Solo Performances

Myra still teaches retreats and will present her county gospel concert or any solo musical anytime except the first three Fridays of each month. If you call us and the date is open, we look at it as a divine appointment and we go where the Lord leads (this also helps to fund BATSF). Jesus said for the older women to teach the younger ones how to live, and Myra feels this is her calling as an older (52) woman who loves Jesus and practices and teaches the Bible as the Living Word of God.
Please pray for more opportunities to minister at churches. Most Saturdays & Sundays are open for the rest of this year.

BATSF features Christian Artists

For June & July, Mary Davis’s beautiful quilts were on display in the lobby, and Aaron Dennis’ (BATSF lighting coordinator)  photography was also displayed during July.

BATSF Fundraisers

Our BATSF fundraisers in April were very successful. We raised $2,600 to help with the rental of the auditorium owned by the Santa Fe Woman’s Club. The rent runs about $500 per month, so far the donations taken at the theater have not covered that, but God has supplied all of our needs through outside donations and the fundraisers. Jesus promises to supply all of our needs and He is always faithful! You can sponsor one night’s show by donating $125. Call to find out how to arrange it, 505-690-2548.

Would you give a 'tithe of a tithe' each month for the next year to Bible Alive Theater/Green Ridge Ministries, above what you give to support your home church? That is a 10th of a 10th, or 1% and we are praying that you may find it 'do-able'. It may sound small, but if many of you will partner with us this way, it will be a huge blessing to our ministry efforts. Remember, "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." and "Many hands make light work."
